El Mozote, El Salvador

El Mozote was the biggest massacre in the western hemisphere,  Even though this place looks nice and re-built, it took much time to build these monuments, On this was with all of these names were the names of the families that had people die, many families had up to 80 members who died within. Being here was very heart-breaking and sad, There were even holes in the ground from bombs, also seeing the bombs in the old houses that was left was very devastating, it felt as if you were there when it happened. The reason for this massacre was due to the government party accusing the people of being against the government party and accused everyone, El Mozote was the most affected town but many surrounding towns were highly affected. There is a garden of innocent children which was devastating to see because it had the age of the children that died in the massacre, the ages ranged from 2 months to 15 years old. I took from this journey to El Salvador that everyone is like a big family but we do not stop and take time to realize it, no matter the color of your skin or where you are from, everyone is connected and in a sense disrespecting or even killing others is considered killing your own family.  Lets help the world to be a better place and see only the good in things and focus on the positives :)
